1. The manufacturer of Rocket Parachute Flares, Ms. Kokusai Kakoh Co., Ltd. (Japan) has issued a recall notice for the Type KP-16 Rocket Parachute Flares, manufactured between February, 2021 and July, 2024 due to performance concerns.

2. The manufacturer is voluntarily offering to replace the Rocket Parachute Flares KP16 with Comet Red Parachute Signal Rocket made by WesCom Signal & Rescue outside of Japan.

3. Owners/ managers of vessels equipped with the concerned Rocket Parachute Flares are advised to take note of above and follow the instructions from Kokusai Kakoh Co., Ltd. as available on their website at lhttps://www.kokusai-kakoh.co.jp/kp-16en.html for replacement of the concerned products.
