1. The Maritime Administration of Oman vide attached Maritime Circular No. 04/2020 & Circular No. 06/2020 has adopted following relaxation measures with respect to the ship and seafarers documents as an exceptional measures in view of outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
   
   a. The validity of following seafarers documents issued by the Administration or under the authority of the Administration, that has expired or will expire in coming months are extended until 30th June 2020:

   1. Certificate of Competency;
      
      
   2. Certificate of Proficiency;
      
      
   3. Seafarer’s Medical Fitness Certificate;
      
      
   4. Recognition Endorsement;
      
      
   5. Recognition Documents (For service in Domestic Voyages); and
      
      
   6. Seafarer’s Identification Document.
      
      

   b. If the validity of a ship’s statutory certificates has expired or is due to expire before 30 June 2020 and it is not possible to carry out survey or inspection of the ship due to limitations related to COVID-19, ship owner to apply to the relevant Recognized Organization, who have been authorized to extend the validity of statutory certificates, terms of scheduled surveys and/or inspections, for up to three (3) months without any additional approval of the Administration.

2. Ship owners/ operators and masters of Oman flagged ships are advised to be guided by above.
