Research is the backbone of all IRCLASS services.

IRClass continually aims to improve its standards of service, and it does so by engaging with maritime industry stakeholders to conduct research for the development of the industry as a whole.  

The outcome of such research is useful for the development of new classification rules and guidelines as well as for amendments to the existing rules and guidelines. This will provide IRClass with a clear understanding of customers’ needs as well as challenges faced in their business operations, allowing IRClass to better serve its customers’ needs.

IRClass strongly believes that customer interaction is crucial in identifying research requirements.

IRClass can assist with, and carry out maritime-related research for industry stakeholders – ship owners, shipyards, design firms, ports, etc. Collaborations (or Joint Research Project) with academic institutes and individuals are also welcome.
