Ship-to-Ship (STS) operations, covering maneuvering, anchoring, emergency response, and fender handling. Participants learn about tanker-specific layouts and incident management in STS operations.
This course offers comprehensive knowledge and familiarization with Ship-to-Ship (STS) operations, covering maneuvering techniques, forces involved in rudder and propeller use, anchoring procedures, and emergency response protocols. Participants will learn how to securely manage fenders, select appropriate sizes, and assess their strengths and limitations for safe mooring arrangements during STS operations, including ship/ship interaction and various environmental conditions. The course emphasizes the use of checklists, exchange of experiences among masters, pilots, and mooring masters, and briefing and debriefing sessions to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risks. Tanker-specific layouts and case studies of STS incidents provide valuable insights into best practices and safety measures for successful STS operations.
